Do you really think G-d wants or needs your help?

Do you really think G-d wants or needs your help?

First of all - you have often heard that: "G-d helps those who help themselves". This is an often quoted phrase - but, it is not found anywhere in the Bible. In fact, the Bible teaches the exact opposite. G-d helps the helpless! Isaiah 25:4 declares, "For You have been a defense for the helpless, a defense for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat..." Romans 5:6 tells us, "For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly." In terms of salvation, we are all utterly helpless. We are all infected by sin (Romans 3:23), and condemned as a result of that sin (Romans 6:23). Nothing we can do on our own can remedy this situation (Isaiah 64:6). Thankfully, G-d is the helper of the helpless. While we were still sinners, Jesus died for us (Romans 5:8). Jesus paid the penalty that we were incapable of paying (2 Corinthians 5:21). A loving G-d provided the "help" that we need precisely because we could not help ourselves. Can we or should we ever attempt to help G-d?

In 2 Samuel 6:6-7 we see a man who tried to help G-d: "And when they came to the floor of Nachon, Oza put forth his hand to the ark of G-d, and took hold of it: because the oxen kicked and made it lean aside. And the indignation of the Lord was enkindled against Oza, and he struck him for his rashness: and he died there before the ark of G-d." G-d does not need any man to hold Him up!

When I had just begun my walk, I aked the Lord what I could do for Him. He answered: "Make me a single rosebud." I answered that I could not do so and then I asked Him what He was going to do for me. He answered: "Everything." See - Philippeans 4:19

In Isaiah 14:12-15 we see Satan saying that he does not need G-d's help to reach heaven but, how did Satan's pride and self-reliance work out for him? - "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of G-d: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

In Genesis 11:5-8 we read about the tower of Babel (Hebrew: מגדל בבל‎), was an enormous tower built by man in the plain of Shinar (Hebrew: שנער‎). Babel was the Hebrew name for Babylon which means "gate of god." The word was similar to the Hebrew word balal which meant to confound or confuse. The Greek form of the name is from the native Akkadian Bāb-ilim, also means "Gate of god", which summarizes the religious purpose of the great man-made temple towers. (The only real gate of G-d is Jesus). According to the biblical account, a united humanity of the generations following the Great Flood, speaking a single language and migrating from the east, came to the land of Shinar, where they resolved: "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth." G-d came down to see what they did and said: "They are one (self sufficient, prideful) people and have one language, and nothing will be withholden from them which they purpose to do." So G-d said, "Come, let us go down and confound their speech." And so G-d scattered them upon the face of the Earth, and confused their languages, and they left off building the city, which was called Babel "because G-d there confounded the language of all the Earth."(Genesis 11:5-8). In Matthew 28:19 Jesus told us to go ye therefore and teach all nations but the denominational churches decided they knew better and built buildings so they would not be scattered and now their names are well known.

We may be tempted to think we no longer need to trust and obey the Lord. We may believe our knowledge, power, learning, sophistication and technology are all we need to be self-sufficient and guarantee our security. The lesson of the Tower of Babel is that if we believe that we do not need G-d but can do it on our own - this is a dangerous delusion. History has repeatedly shown that when people fall into the trap of arrogance and self sufficiency - like Babel, all those self-reliant people have eventually ended up in ruins. Pride goeth before the fall.

In Isaiah Chapter 4 we read where the Prophet of the Lord proclaims: "And in that day seven women (denominational churches) shall take hold of one man (Jesus), saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain."

In Revelation 17 and 18 we see G-d judge the great whore Babylon and her harlot daughters have used their own efforts to "reach heaven" without Jesus' help - for they have truly eaten of their own bread, worn their own apparel and they are all calling themselves by His Holy name. The Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, in his Antiquities of the Jews (c AD 94), recounted history as found in the Hebrew Bible and mentioned the Tower of Babel. Josephus wrote that it was Nimrod (means "we will rebel") who had the tower built and that Nimrod was a tyrant who tried to turn the people away from G-d. In this account, G-d confused the people rather than destroying them because destroying people with a Flood hadn't taught them not to rebel.

We are told in Revelation 21:8 that sorcerers shall have their part in the "lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. The original Greek word for sorcerer is pharmakeus which means "an enchanter with drugs." This, in turn, comes from the word pharmakeia from which we get our modern English word pharmacy. The word in its original Greek means the occult, sorcery, witchcraft, illicit pharmaceuticals, trance, and magical incantation with drugs. In 1 Samuel 15:23 we read that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. How does G-d see rebellion/witchcraft? Deuteronomy 13:5; 18:10-14; Isaiah1:2,23; 30:947:9; 57:1-12; 1 Samuel 15:23; Leviticus 19:26; Psalms 107:11; 2 Kings 17:17; Nehmiah 9:26; Acts 8: 9-11; Jeremiah 3:13; 5:23;14;14; 27:9-10; 2 Timothy 3:6-8; Matthew 7:22; Exodus 20:7; Revelation 21:8; 22:15; and Chapters 17 & 18. Are you involved in prideful, self-reliant rebellion dear one?

What do you need to do for the Lord? Nothing! "Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord...the Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace" Exodus 14:13; 2 Chronicles 20:17; John 16:33.

In Phillipians 2:12-13 we read: "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is G-d who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." Romans 3:28 - "For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law." 1 Corinthians 1:29 - "so that no one may boast before him." 2 Timothy 1:9 "who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time," Titus 3:5 - "He (Jesus) saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit." Ephsians 2:9 - "Not of works, lest any man should boast." Hebrews 11:6 - "But without faith [it is] impossible to please [Him]: for he that cometh to G-d must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

If you really want to be saved from your sins, you only need to believe, repent and to accept His the free gift of salvation. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of G-d" (Romans 10:17). You must believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of G-d. As Jesus said: "For if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins" (John 8:24). You must repent of your sins: "Truly, these times of ignorance G-d overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30) The apostle Peter taught, to: "Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins" (Acts 2:38). You must then forgive and love one another and obey all the commands of Christ: "Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, does not have G-d. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son" (II John 9). Then what do you need to do?

In John 15:17 we read: "These things I command you, that ye love one another." In John 13:35 we read: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." See also: 1 John 3:23

"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." - Matthew 7:1-5

In Matthew 18:21-35 we read: "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. “The servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded. “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’ “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. “This is how our heavenly Father will treat each of us unless we forgive (and then forget the grievance) our brothers from our heart.”

The apostle Paul saw the need to be very careful when trying to save others; he wrote: "I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" (I Corinthians 9:27). A "castaway" in the spiritual sense is one who becomes unfaithful before the end of their life. How tragic it is, for those who go around preaching to others the truth, often do it in such a way as to "disqualify" themselves of G-d's grace! But, this is what is about to befall many (Matthew 23:15) who have preached and even done marvelous works and then have given their converts to the great whore Babylon (confusion) or to any of her harlot daughters. In Joel 2:32 we read: "And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call." But, in Matthew 7:21-23 we read: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew (John 10:27) you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." In Exodus 20:7 we read why: "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain."

According to Jewish Orthodox tradition, the Sacred Name is not to be uttered and accordingly, the form "G-d " is used in writing or printing. In place of pronouncing the Sacred Name in prayer, worship and discussion, the form "Adonai" (the Hebrew for 'Lord') is used. G-d's name is not God, when it is transliterated into English: His name is YHWH - with vowels added it is YAHWEH which is translated it is I AM WHO I AM. YHWH has been translated is "The Self-Existent one." What does this mean? Something is self-existent if it can exist all by itself, without any dependencies whatsoever. Everything we encounter in life is dependent on something else. Life needs air. Air needs molecules. Molecules need molecular cohesion. Molecular cohesion needs.......and so on. Where does the chain of dependency end? What is the "ontological anchor" of the universe? YHWH, the I Am that I Am, the creator of the universe, depends only on Himself for existence. He is the source and origin of all that exists. In Him we live and move and have our being. So, all of YHWH's nature and attributes are embodied in His name. He is the ultimate ground. We are the figures. He is infinite subject. We are object. He is the source. We the proceeds. G-d is the creator of the universe, and that is-ness is not dependent on any other reality. "Ani" is Hebrew for "I Am." Throughout the Bible you see (in most translations) the phrase "I am the LORD" in all caps like that. In Hebrew, that is Ani YHWH. "Behold, I am the I am."

Fear of the Lord is one of the Seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, as described in Isaiah 11:2-3. In Proverbs 1:7 and Proverbs 9:10, the fear of the Lord is called the beginning or foundation of wisdom. In Proverbs 15:33, the fear of the Lord is described as the "discipline" or "instruction" of wisdom. The word "fear" in connection with the Lord is not very popular today. A majority of denominational churches seem to have diluted the concept of the "fear of the Lord" to the point that there is no place for "trembling" in their definition of "fear." The denominational churches do not preach about who is going to hell - they only teach about heaven assuming all ot the memebers in their denomination/congregation will avoid the second death. But Jesus certainly taught the "fear of the Lord." He said: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28). The denominational churches teach all manner of lies, untruths and lull their congregations into beLIEving that all of the congregation is going to Heaven because of their own works, tithes, offerings, memberships, baptisms, etc. There is only one true Savior and only one way - Jesus said: "I am (Deuteronomy 5:11 and Exodus 3:14) the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 5:19-47; 14:6,23-31) Whitewashed denominational "christianity" is so entangled with the world, the flesh and the devil that very few believers can see how far Babylon has misssed the mark of Jesus high calling nor are they worried in the slightest that they might be in Babylon or one of her harlot daughters. Do you know where you are dear one?.

At least know this - the Great G-d Almighty who created all the heavens and the earth - who is and was and ever shall be - who is all-mighty, all-knowing and all-powerful - not only does He not "need" your help - He does not want it!
